the philosophical barriers to understanding Christ are vast
- mind you, this is raw logic based on our understanding (lean not on your own understanding verse)
- it IS logical by God’s view, but it requires information we simply can’t attain this side of eternity without some sort of divine inspiration
- all we must do is accept it on the merit of the character of the One who indicates it
- God is eternal, man is not
Christ is man, who is an eternal not-eternal being?
- God is perfect, man is not
Christ is man, who is a perfect not-perfect being?
- Christ was present in the Old Testament in harshness, He is present in the New Testament in grace
Dispensationalism? Different God roles? different moods?
- Jesus died, but God can’t die?
- Ugly truths, but God is love?
We obviously can’t use our minds to grasp these things on this side of eternity.
- This, therefore, makes most [theology] a waste of time unless it’s for [fun]
closing statement:
It’s no wonder that it’s only God who saves! (verse about God saving, not us)
