Our Fallen Feelings

There are several emotions that have been heightened due to the fall

the fall led to knowing morality

morality is the basis for anger

anger leads to decisiveness (trying to take God’s place)

when we fail, we face the “root of bitterness” (Heb/Lev reference)

  • this creates the works of the flesh, which is the mechanical basis of sin

we must stop our anger to stay open-minded to His will

  • this means we stay in a state of suspended judgment:
  • “I have no idea, and don’t need to know”
  • “I don’t know, but God knows”
  • devotion to God is complete release

this is perplexing to the world, who NEEDS to know

  • that can create tremendous inner friction with them

both guilt and anger are products of the Fall

  • no need for guilt in a sinless man, only mild remorse that leads to habitual action
  • no need for anger when injustice is properly dealt with in God’s timing

Furhter, other feelings are certainly connected to the Fall:

  • Depression is an existential void that only comes when we don’t have the lifeline of love to God directly
  • (examine mind-feelings-beliefs.md)

The Solution:

  • God certainly wanted us to know these feelings in their due time.
  • We are to regulate those feelings with reality.
  • We must submit wholly to Him, in all forms.
