The Holy Spirit is Underrated

the Holy Spirit moves powerfully

  • however, most modern churches tend to forget a detail: the universe was made by that Holy Spirit

to the degree God didn’t create automation (e.g., angels), His Spirit is involved

  • many people forget that part

ironically, the people who acknowledge the Holy Spirit moving miraculously tend to fail at understanding the Holy Spirit making EVERYTHING

  • a frog doing its thing on a lily pad is as much a “miracle” as curing cancer

in this frame of thought, we are deceived by a specific illusion of pattern recognition:

  • we assume the laws of physics, life, death, nature, biology, astronomy, etc are fixed
  • however, that is only because God made it that way
  • as much as He wants, He made the rules, so He can break them

and, even under “breaking”, quantum physics indicates clearly that we have no real idea what’s down there

  • at any point, God can change everything
  • we think of “permanence” or “solidity”, but there is enough science to say that all matter is mostly empty space, or mostly energy, or mostly vibrations
  • in other words, there’s as much evidence philosophically to prove that we exist in God’s mind or in a simulation as nearly as the idea that physics is real

all that tinfoil aside, I’m bringing it here to indicate that the Holy Spirit is ever-present, ever-attentive, and we do a disservice to Him by implying that He is only working when we’re paying attention or feeling His presence

  • He simply WANTS to be observed at that point, and that is it
